Combining prints? Why going through this stress?
Fashionista or not, no one actually escapes from fashion since it’s part of our daily life. I’m a stylist for online clients of Zalando and deal with different personalities on a daily basis. In the end, everyone wants to wear outfits which make you feel comfortable, but also a little special. Some women like it more practical and some others appreciate the look way more. I often get asked to give new inspiration for the office, the next party, wedding or just for the free time. Wittingly or unwittingly, everyone wants to express a piece of their personality via their outfits. Combining different prints is one way to make your look unique. You just need to find the right balance to keep harmony in your outfit. With these 3 tips you’ll always make it work for you!
Stripes always work!
Stripes are not only the biggest print trend in 2016 but also compatible with pretty any other print. Another reason to tuck in!
Different prints, but similar coloring!
As mentioned in the introduction, you always want to keep harmony despite the mix of prints. So you can easily grab two different prints, if the coloring is similar. In the example below, you find polka dots with a floral print. Dots are like stripes relatively neutral, but I wouldn’t go out on a limb and claim that they fit with everything. Here it works so well, because the whole look is blue with some other accents.
Similar prints, but different coloring!
Different prints with similar coloring works. So why not the other way around? That’s even easier. The print doesn’t need to be identical, but it must be from the same print family (for instance flowers, hearts, stripes and so on). In order to increase the effect, you can grab to different colors. Here are two examples.
